A quick read

A plain-language guide to the information that may be processed when you browse Peak Map Today, use the live map, open an external share service, or contact the site.

01

What this policy covers

Peak Map Today is a public reference site for the daily PEAK route map, biome views, and marker layers. This policy covers the website at peakmaptoday.com and its pages, map controls, static assets, and links that the site provides.

It explains the difference between information needed to deliver a webpage, information sent to a service you deliberately open, and information that the site does not currently ask you to provide. The policy applies to visitors using a desktop browser, mobile browser, or an installed browser feature that opens the site.

02

What the map does not ask you for

The current site does not provide accounts, sign-in, subscriptions, comments, file uploads, payment checkout, or a user profile. You can inspect the route, switch layers, change the biome view, zoom, pan, select markers, and share a link without creating an account.

Map controls are interface state in your browser. Selecting a marker or hiding a layer changes what you see on the current page; it does not create a public player profile or submit a gameplay report to Peak Map Today.

03

Information processed to deliver and protect the site

When any website loads, the hosting and network providers involved in the request may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device characteristics, requested URL, referring page, timestamps, response status, and basic security signals. Cloudflare provides the site delivery layer for Peak Map Today, and the map also requests rotating map data from a Cloudflare-hosted data service.

These records can be used by the relevant provider to deliver content, detect abuse, maintain reliability, troubleshoot failed requests, and protect the service. The site also uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand traffic and page interaction. Those services are operated by their own providers and may process technical usage data under their respective policies.

04

Map requests, sharing, and external services

The interactive map loads image assets and current route data so that the map can show the selected biome and marker layers. A map-data request is sent to the service that hosts that data; the request is necessary for the map to display and may be logged by that provider under its own policies.

If you choose Share, Copy link, or a social destination, your browser may open a native share sheet or a third-party service such as X, Facebook, Reddit, WhatsApp, Telegram, LinkedIn, or Bluesky. The selected service receives the link and any text needed to create the share. Its privacy policy and account settings control what happens after you leave Peak Map Today.

05

Cookies, storage, and analytics

After the page becomes interactive, Peak Map Today loads Google Analytics 4 for page views and traffic reporting, Microsoft Clarity for session diagnostics and interaction patterns, and the traffic script hosted at tj.spritesheet-maker.com for site measurement. These services can receive information such as the page URL, referrer, browser and device details, approximate activity timing, and interaction events. They are not used to provide a Peak Map Today account or save a personal route profile.

The site does not intentionally collect names, passwords, payment details, uploaded files, or game chat through these scripts. Microsoft Clarity applies its standard masking behavior, and visitors should still avoid entering personal information into any third-party prompt opened from the site. Review the Google, Microsoft, and script provider privacy policies for their own retention and opt-out controls.

The app does not require local storage for an account or saved route. Your browser may still cache files, retain history, or apply technical cookies and security mechanisms supplied by a hosting, network, or external service. The updated date at the top of this page records the current tracking disclosure.

06

Retention, security, and children

Peak Map Today has no user account database for the current map workflow. Technical request records are controlled by the hosting or network provider that creates them. Analytics and session records are controlled by Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the script provider according to their own retention settings and policies. Any email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to understand, respond to, and document the request or correction.

Reasonable technical measures are used to keep the website and its data requests reliable. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. The site is a general-audience reference and is not designed to knowingly request personal information from children.

07

Your choices and requests

You can use browser controls, content blockers, or provider opt-out settings to limit analytics scripts, block cookies, clear cached files, and decide whether to open a social sharing service. Blocking measurement scripts does not stop the map from working, although blocking map-data requests may prevent the live route view from loading.

For a privacy question, correction, or request about an email you sent, contact the address below. Requests involving Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, the script provider, a social platform, a browser, or an internet service may need to be directed to that provider because Peak Map Today does not control its records.
